How to Choose the Right Summer School Location
With schools in seven different UK locations, the question we hear most from parents isn't "which school is best", it's "which location suits my child". Here's how we'd think about it.
If your child wants beach and social energy
Bournemouth is the clear answer, a residential campus five minutes from seven miles of coastline, with an indoor pool for the days the weather doesn't cooperate.
If your child wants an academic, prestigious setting
Cambridge and Oxford both put students inside real college life, punting on the Cam or living in an actual Oxford college. Oxford Royale is a different product though, a subject-based academic course rather than general English, see our Academic Enrichment page before choosing between the two.
If your child wants a capital city
London offers two very different campuses: a Bloomsbury townhouse with five sightseeing visits built into the week, or a quieter Uxbridge university campus with excellent sports facilities and a short tube ride into the centre.
If your child wants a quieter, slower pace
Oakham and Northampton are countryside market towns, extensive on-site sport, a strong sense of community, and still within reach of London and Cambridge as day excursions. Oakham is also home to our Football + English course.
If your child wants flexibility between residential and homestay
Canterbury is our only location offering both residential and homestay side by side, plus an Intensive English option for students who want faster progress in a shorter stay.
